WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox® is used to temporarily relax your muscles and smooth out or soften existing wrinkles and also to prevent or delay them from appearing as you age. Dr. Torres is an expert injector and exclusively performs ALL injections himself at Skin and Skinnier. Dr. Torres often combines Botox with Dermal Fillers for the ultimate combination in reversing the clock. We have many patients come in for Botox® during their lunch break. HOW MUCH BOTOX DO I NEED?
At your initial consultation and treatment, Dr. Torres will determine how much Botox® you need — and ONLY what you need! — for optimal results. Dr. Torres is an expert injector and you can count on his always injecting it in the proper muscle plane as well as giving you the most appropriate dosing. Most importantly, Dr. Torres is extremely ethical and doesn’t play any dilution games – EVER!
HOW MUCH DOES BOTOX COST IN SAN DIEGO?
Botox® currently costs $12 per unit. Below are some approximate guidelines for each area:
Frown lines: 20-30 units
Crow’s feet: 12-24 units
Forehead lines: 10-30 units
Neck bands: 20-40 units
Excessive sweating of underarms, hands, or feet: 100 units
HOW LONG DOES BOTOX® LAST?
With the proper dosing, you can expect your treated muscles to be relaxed for approximately 3-4 months. However, not all injectors and med spas are equal. If you have not seen comparable results, it may mean that you have been under-treated or improperly injected.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Immediately after injection, patients experience minor swelling and redness that usually subsides 10-20 minutes. Make-up can be applied immediately after injections. Some patients have experienced a headache within 24 hours of the procedure.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Patients taking blood thinners, ibuprofen, and/or Vitamin E, have an increased likelihood of experiencing bruising. To prevent bruising, these medications should be discontinued 2 weeks prior to injections.
WHO CANNOT HAVE BOTOX®?
Patients who are pregnant or have certain neurological disorders.
ARE BOTOX® INJECTIONS PAINFUL?
Most patients experience little or no discomfort during injection.
